What is the Prairie Urological Association (PUA)?

The PUA is a non-profit association of urologists from the three Canadian Prairie Provinces (Alberta, Saskatchewan, & Manitoba).

PUA activities include an Annual Meeting of all members (active urologists) occurring in February or March.

The meeting provides a forum for urological research & issues in Western Canada and discussion with a visiting speaker.

Abstract submission is encouraged from senior medical students (3rd & 4th year), urology residents, fellows and urologic staff.

Prairie Urological Association Essay prize is an award given at the annual meeting to a urological resident who submits a finished scientific paper ready for submission to a major urologic journal. This award is to encourage the publication of the scientific papers presented at the Annual Meeting. The author of the winning essay will be awarded $1500. All submissions will receive $500 prize for submitting to the PUA essay contest & upon acceptance for publication to a urologic journal.
