Health's Stollery Children's Hospital

The Stollery Children's Hospital is a full-service
pediatric hospital with both a unique physical design and patient-care
approach. The Stollery Children’s Hospital cares for children
from northern and central Alberta, as well as parts of Manitoba,
Saskatchewan, British Columbia, the Northwest Territories, Yukon,
and Nunavut.
The hospital is committed to meeting the ever-changing health needs
of children in an environment that integrates excellence in the
delivery of care, education, and research. Staffed by highly-skilled
child health professionals from around the world, the Stollery Children's
Hospital is a well-recognized centre for specialized pediatric health
services and is located within Edmonton, Alberta's Walter C. Mackenzie
Health Sciences Centre. The Stollery is Western Canada's referral
centre for pediatric cardiac surgery and a national leader in organ
transplantation, with a referral base of more than 1.7 million.
The Stollery Children's Hospital practices family-centered
care, where the child and family can be together during the child's
treatment. Family lounges are the heart of the inpatient units.
They have informal spaces for family gatherings, built-in beds for
parents in the child's room, and improved play areas for children
on each of the renovated units.
